Up North Camper Quilt!
Updated: Jun 2, 2021
New additions! Babies, in-laws, friends babies, puppies, campers! What a wonderful thing new additions are! We celebrate these joys by gifting something special that will be loved and cherished through the years. A baby gets showered with new clothes, books and blankets. A new puppy gets its collar and leash; a comfortable bed and toys. Even when starting a new life with a partner you are given kind gifts to honor your partnership together! Well! I love to welcome new additions to friends and family with a quilt or a blanket! Like love to!

Back from memory lane to the present. It only seemed fitting that when we decided on purchasing a camper; a new camper quilt would come together to welcome it home! My first decor project for the camper and I could hardly wait!
I had my eye on this pattern Up North Camper Quilt for sometime! It was a hunt to find it and I finally landed the pattern on Etsy! For only $10 I was on my way to crafting this adorable pattern! A few day trips with my mom to find the cutest and camperiest fabrics we could find! Although I didn't find everything I was looking for I was still so pumped to get started!

Now I don't know about you but my least favorite part of quilting is the precise cutting. I am not precise...not in the very least! So for the first time ever I made all of the cuts using my Cricut Maker Rotary tool! If you have a Cricut Maker I am telling you...game. changer. By typing in the dimensions and shapes I was able to make all the cuts (precisely mind you) for the quilt and jump right into sewing! I will definitely share a live future tutorial on how to use the Cricut for quilt designs and cutting, but in the meantime I love to reference this great guide from JenniferMaker on how to cut fabric on the Cricut Maker!
Here is the finished top! Not perfect by any quilters standards but a proud accomplishment nonetheless. Isn't that sometimes the loveliest thing about a quilt?! The flaws and mis-matchiness of it all? I think it is! Next on the agenda is to make a Holiday Version! I am so excited to see the finished quilted product in the camper! Happy quilting and camping friends!
